Typic – Easily Add Text To Your Photos

Today’s app is a fun one with the holidays in mind for all those pictures you’ve been taking with your iPhone or iPad. Typic is a photo-editing app from the fantastically named Hi Mom development crew.

Now, there are thousands of photo-editing apps in the App Store but this is one of the most UN-complicated and straightforward ones I’ve used.

Typic is my go-to app when I just want to add some text to a picture. There are other things you can do, but that’s the main feature I use.

You simply launch the app, and either take a picture, or pull one from your photo library.

Next you swipe to the left where you can apply a filter or frame (not something I usually do).

Swipe to the left again to add text (can add up to 4 boxes). Tap the “Add Text” button and then you can select from 100+ fonts.

Tap and drag to move the text around. And I LOVE the fact that you can pinch or spread you fingers to make it smaller or bigger. Plus take 2 fingers to twist the text box where you want it.

Swipe to the left again to change the color of your text and I also like to add a shadow to make it stand out a little bit more.

Swipe left again to add a small design, then change the color and add a shadow.

The last swipe to the left reveals a really cool masking tool, allowing you to rub out parts of your text and design elements to make them seem like they’re behind objects in your photo.

You can even upload your own business / law firm logo to stamp on your pictures.

Then tap Share to either save your masterpiece back to your photo roll, or you can attach it to an e-mail, or send to Facebook, etc.

At any point you can swipe back to the right to move back a step and make changes. And at the very end, you can tap this little button to go all the way back to the beginning.

I just appreciate Typic’s process that takes me step-by-step through each feature, and gives me easy access to the options in a clear interface. I don’t have to think about it too hard.

They also have Typic Kids and Typic Baby if that suits your current place in life.

I don’t modify a lot of pictures, but I really enjoy having Typic on my iPhone for those few times that I really wanna dress up a photo I’ve taken with my awesome iPhone 7 Plus.
